ABSTRACT
This chapter presents relevant literature for supplier selection methods and studies on supplier selection applied machine learning. It provides fundamental content covering machine learning, learning types and learning tasks, and an extract of content describing the use of Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis (WEKA). The chapter illustrates the classification of the Supplier Chain Data on the WEKA platform with four classification algorithms. WEKA is kept up-to-date with commendable efforts by its developers to include even the latest algorithms in the field of data mining. Attribute-Relation File Format developed for WEKA is a text-based dataset file consisting of two distinct sections called HEADER and DATA. The Header Section contains information lines about the source and content of the data set, which are written after “%” character, in order to inform the user; however, the comment lines are not interpreted by WEKA.
